    Unhappy Hayfever

    Hi,

I suffer pretty badly from hayfever, it is only something that has developed over the last 5 years.

I started off by taking Claratyne, which worked for the first year. By the 2nd year it wasn't enough, so I went onto the red Telfast. After the 3rd year it wasn't enough, so I went onto the green Telfast.

Last year in September I remember it being particularly bad, went to the chemist and all he said is stick to the green Telfast and try to stay inside.

It really is getting on my nerves. The tablet is supposed to be 24hrs, but it wears off after 10. Not completely, but enough for my nose to tickle, run and be blocked and for my eyes to itch.

Does anyone know what a good remedy for hayfever is? I will consider anything; stronger meds, a natural therapy etc.

My DD (3.5 years old) gets severe hayfever. She is on Nasonex nose spray and singulair tablets for it.

Go and see your doctor and see if there is something else for you. I am sure that there is probably something that they can prescribe you that would be stronger than the over the counter medicines.

    Good luck.

Hi, I suffer from hayfever myself and so does one of my girls. DD2 is on nasonex (not cheap!) and I use rhinocourt. We both also use the fess nasal spray just before our medicated nose sprays because we were told it clears the nasal passages a bit and helps the mediaction absorb better. It seems to work well with us.

    Goodluck.

Rhinocort is the only thing that works for me - i have had seasonal hayfever for about 15 years, and have tried everything. None of the tablets do a thing.

You can buy it over the counter at the pharmacy. It takes a few days to take effect, but once it starts working you won't look back!

    Default Polaramine

I've suffered from Hayfever my whole life. I've tried all the tablets, the most successful ones are Polaramine. Theres 2 types a 12hr and a 24hr. I don't think you can take them when your preggers or breastfeeding. I'm currently using Rhinocrt spray and finding it pretty good.

My 10 month old baby girl is starting to show symptoms so I am about to take her to the doctors to see what can be done.
