    Default 1 Fish ... 2 Fish ?

    OK.. just a quick and maybe silly question.
    Is it 2 Fish or 2 Fishes ??? What is the correct word ?

    I say Fish
    Me - 27 DH - 49
    YES - big age gap indeed - but age is just a number right ?
    DD - 4 years
    DS - 1 year

    I agree with you all that it is 2 FISH.... so why are play school and other children's programs pronouncing it 2 FISHES ???

    'fishes' is for when you are referring to more than one species. You don't have to use it this way though. I think it's older.

    'fish' is when you are talking about multiple of the one species but is generally accepted as the plural.
