Default My mother in law has lost my sons birth photos long vent

I am so upset. My MIL has lost my sons photos that he had proffesionally taken at the hospital.
I lent them to her to pick out the ones she wanted and to sent to some to her sister and she never returned them.
I asked her for them the other day and she said oh thats right I have a look.... I dont remember you giving them to me. She asked for them. I gave them to her because if I hadnt of I would have been the worst person in the world and it would have started WW3.
Now she cant find them and she says I never gave them to her in the first place. I dont lie!!! My husband is a witness that she received the photos. I am upset because she lost them and they are special photos that i will never get back , but the other reason that Im really upset is that she is making out that she never received them in the first place!!!!
If I dont give her photos of the kids Im in the S*** and if I do she never ever puts them up in her house. It hurts because they are her only grand kids and since my mums passing the kids only Grandma.
Before My mum passed she would clamper to get closer to the kids and compete with my mum... She would ***** because my mum would come over everyday, my mum was dying so I would let her spend every last minute with them. MIL is always welcome in my house anytime and I try to include her in the kids life but no she doesnt even put photos up of them.
I dont understand why she is so bitter towards me. I dont understand why she cant just say Im sorry I lost the photos. Instead she has to try and make every situation my fault.
I just pray that she finds those photos. I wish I never lent them to her in the first place. I was trying to do a nice thing and now i have lost special photos that I will never get back!!!

Another MIL that needs a backhand

I would suggest calling the photographer. No doubt he/she has a MIL too.

I agree or try and raid her house! Sounds like she's the type to not admit that she has found them again if she has lost them...

That's really sad, those first days were so special and so important to capture. I really hope you can get copies... Isn't it funny that 9 out of 10 of us have horrible MIL's. I am definately part of that group!!! Did anyone watch Monster In Law????

My Mum is still very upset over the loss of my hospital birth pictures, the photographer called my mum 8 weeks after the birth and told her there was a fire and they lost all the birth photos the day I was born.
She was too upset to tell me but finally did 15 years later.

I just told her that it's okay, we have plenty of other photos of me born that day.
Sad thing was a few months later we had a massive flood and all of our photos were ruined.

Photos are precious, I hope the photographer can help you out.

I feel really bad for you (and all the ppl with bad MIL's)

I worry that mine will turn one day - so far she is an exemplary MIL... we are acutally friends.

Well in reality I have 2 MIL's (DH's mum is in a lesbian relationship..) so her partner is my pseudo-MIL..

Raid her house - she probably didnt look..

    so sorry

How can she just "lose the photos"? If you gave them to her at her home then they must be there somewhere I have a feeling she might be playing games, maybe wants them all for herself or has maybe spilled something on them accidentally? Hope she finds them, I would be fuming

Hope the photographer still has the negs!
