Default Howard imposing IR laws - what do you think?

I am not trying to be a smart pants, I am asking questions to better understand, so that come November 24 I can make an informed decision.

I am raising this question out of very sincere curiosity so please do not take offence, I mean no harm.

I found this paper. In Black and white it seems very similar in pattern to nowadays Australian politics.

Well there are simularities in as making one group of people the insuperior group, and taking away certain rights of one group, I think the laws suck. Obviously no one here is being put into concentration camps or anything that hideous, but it is still one leader pushing his ridiculous ideals on one group of people, on this occassion the workers.

Yep, on principle I would agree, I think it is disgusting what the Liberal party are doing to workers. It makes me angry just thinking about them and the consequences for my boys if they are not thrown out.

I think it is irresponsible of anyone to compare John Howard or for that matter Kevin Rudd to Hitler in the context of Australia in 2007.

IMO it trivialises the true nature of Hitler, what he did and what his grand purpose was in all of that.

To question policies as a community is one of the very lessons we can all learn from reflecting on that horrific era, but to make personal comparisons with John Howard is OTT. The man has been in power for a significant period, and as yet has shown no signs of the psychotic tendencies of Hitler. I think those making the commentary should be fair: highlight the role of unions in our community, historically and presently. Encourage reflection and robust debate. And respect our intelligence by leaving sensationalist comparisons out of it.

I don't think Lebensraum ideology is a fair comparison when it comes to IR laws.

    In fact, no comparison.

I think it is irreisponsible to not ask questions, and think outside the square.

Did the Germans know it was coming? could they have forseen what was to come?

In principal, ebolishing unions...???? Enforcing conditions once you have power of upper and lower house?

I cant get to where you are just by clicking my fingers. Please explain your reasoning.

What about certain union members dealing with under the table deals? Bricking homes, bashings, they can be just as loathsome.

In the end, we are all of differing opinions.
