I think I'm pregnant! When should I see a Doc?

Hi!

This is my first post. Lovely to find support on the web.

I'm happy to say that I think I'm pregnant for the first time, however I feel like I don't have anyone to talk too about it (as I don't want to feel silly in case I'm not and i've heard you shouldn't tell anyone until after 1st trimester).

Of couse my hubby knows my feelings, but I think he doesn't want to get his hopes up and besides, he can't feel what I'm feeling in my body.

Anyway, my question is whether I should go to a doctor or just do another preg test (my first was negative)?

My period is 9 or 10 days overdue. I have sore breasts, nausea, hunger pains, tired, hormonal (ups and downs), tiredness through the day but also a little bit of insomnia, waking earlier than usual, extra salvia, tummy gurgling and a few days ago had this wonderful overwhelming sense of joy and happiness that made me first think that I was indeed pregnant!

So as you can see all the symptoms are there, but I took a preg test yesterday (day 8/9 after period) mid-morning but it was negative. I couldn't believe it, as like I said I just have this really strong feeling that I am. Although hubby thinks my symptoms may be pms (but how would he know?!) he also thinks if I am pregnant then yesterday may have been too early day to test and because not first morning sample. (fyi - some of my symptoms feel different to my normal pms)

Soooo..my question to you all is:
When should I do another test? Or should I just go straight to the doctor do you think?!

I'd go doc and get a blood test
Its a for you and hubby
all your symptoms sound like preggy symptoms to me

i agree with hayleysmum.

i would do one in the morning and see what it says, either way i would then make my way to the doctors for a blood test to confirm it all.
that it is a !!!!!

i would say wait another few days and do another HPT if its still negative go to ur doc and ask for a blood test hope it all goes well

I personally would wait and try a hpt again in a few days.

How exciting for you! I would do another home test in the morning but in the meantime make an appointment to see your GP. You may need to wait a little longer though to get a definite positive result.

Thanks heaps for your responses. nice to know you think those symptoms are good signs.

But ugh, the waiting is killing me - i just want to know for sure so I can celebrate!!!

I know i know....just be patient! I'll get another HPT and do it in a couple of days...then see a doc.

Yep id wait, even though the wait is really annoying, then id do another HPT. Then id be off to the Doc for a blood test.

I'd get a Blood test aswell.. just to be sure. but it sounds like your pregnant!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK

If you are already late for your period you should be able to get a positive. I tested before my period was due and got a I'd be going straight to the doc to get a blood test, don't waste money on HPT's.
