Special Person Wanted

Hello, I will start with a little about my husband and I. My name is Peta, his is Jody. We have been together for 13 1/2yrs and married for 9yrs.

We have endured infertility since 1997. We have had numerous attempts at AIH and then in 2000 we did it - we fell pregnant all by ourselves. But it wasn't to be - we lost the baby at 10weeks. We were devastated. We then moved on to IVF. We had our 6th attempt only a few months ago. We have known that donor eggs would probably be our best option for a couple of years. But I thought maybe just one more IVF attempt - we might just do it this time. But it has never happened. We have seen 4 different IVF clinics over the years. We started with CQ IVF - who were absolutely brilliant - so helpful and understanding. Monash took over the IVF services in CQ next and we tried with them - but due to miscommunications between staff and us, and another failed attempt - we chose not to continue with them. We then moved to Sunshine Coast IVF - I cannot speak more highly of the staff here. But infortunately we hit a brick wall and nothing seemed to be working for us. So we are now seeing the Guru in Brisbane at QFC. We had our 6th attempt at QFC - with no success.

So we are now looking for that very special person who will help us realise our long held dream of becoming parents by donating eggs. If there is anyone that can help we couldn't put into words how happy we would be.

We are a loving couple and believe we can offer a stable and loving home for children.

Hi Peta,
Just wanted to wish you luck, I am also in a similar position so know how difficult this all is for you. I think that this site is a great place to start - the support from other IVF gals is great. Its nice to talk to people who have been there and you'll get some great advice, as well as,, the donor you are looking for.

Hi Ellie,

Thank you so much for you kind words. It is so great to be able to talk to women who have been through IVF. To know that someone understand this difficult process. I remember my first attempts at IVF - my high hopes, the dreams of giving birth to our child and bringing them home. I used to think Why Us? Why Me? and be absolutely devastated. As each cycle passes and fails - I am still just as upset but tend to keep it bottled up. I feel if I give in to it I would just fall apart. IVF and infertility is not something I would wish on anyone. Sometimes I feel like less of a woman, sometimes I feel humiliated at not being able to have children. People ask when are you going to have children. Sometimes I say we can't - If I feel they are being rude. Others, I just say we will get there one day - or we want to be here or have that before we have children. Some people then look at us like we are being selfish. But you can't help what people think I suppose. But on to some good news we may have a donor - we are just so excited. I really hope you also find the donor you are looking for. Best of Luck, Peta
