    Hi Tallulahbelle

I hope this is not too late to reach you. Once you know where (suburb) you will be staying, try visiting our local government website. You can search on suburbs to find your local council. Most councils have good websites that give links to community services, recreational facilities (swimming pools) etc. Most libraries in Adelaide offer some kind of kid activities (I know the one at Stirling in the Adelaide Hills is very popular) Here's the website:

    http://www.lga.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=210

We have some great public swimming pools in Adelaide, especially at Hazelwood Park (surrounded by gum trees), Payneham, Kensington and Unley. Most swimming pools are outside, and have kiddie size pools too.

A beautiful place to spend some time relaxing with hubby and bubs is in our Botanic Gardens (see http://www.environment.sa.gov.au/bot...ens/index.html ). I'm a bit biased because I work for the agency that runs the gardens, but it's a real sanctuary in the city, and is also near our Zoo.

I also recommend you check this website out. Lots of useful information put together by the South Australian Government - www.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm Click on Community Services, and you will find information and links.

I hope you have a fantastic time when you come to Adelaide. It's a little dry here at the moment as we're in the middle of a drought, but there are so many beautiful places to visit, loads of great beaches etc.

Also - if you are a bit of a foodie, don't forget to visit our central markets in the heart of the city. You and bubs could spend hours wandering around there!

    Safe travels!

Thanks so much kitty - lots to follow up on. I am familiar with Adelaide having lived there before, just didn't have baby to entertain in those days! Will be living city centre - near Belgian Beer place so doubt is very baby friendly but will check out your suggestions. Many thanks.

    When do you arrive?

If you want someone to accompany you or just to hang out with you... I can get some of my friends - some of whom are mums too and we would be more than happy to show you around and be a contact for you... feeling lonely and isolated is not a good feeling... so we're more than happy to spend time with you!

    Just PM.
