    Default Cloth Mumma

I am interested in cloth pads, but don't want to waste heaps of money buying them if they aren't that good. I am starting to really love the idea of cloth anything these days! LOL! Any suggestions? And pricing? I don't want to spend lots of cash and then not like them. No one wants to buy used pads....

Actually, I think you will find that there are people who do!

    BH cloth pad directory

My suggestion is to join newsletters and cloth pad yahoo groups (ie Girly Bits), which ensures you know when they'll be restocking. Some stores always have cloth pads, whereas most cloth pads are wahm made which means intermittent stockings.

There is a market for pre-loved cloth pads. I for one would buy them if they were readily available. I think it comes across as a bit icky ("Ewww! Someone else's blood has been on here!") but a wash and a good hang out in the sun gets rid of any nasties. It's a bit like cloth nappies - there's a huge market for pre-loved now - so many people have got past the ick factor with that.

Expect to pay anywhere from about $7 (liners, less absorbent pads) to $30 (ultra pad, with all the bells and whistles!!!). Average price is around $10 - $15 though. You can expect to pay about $100 for a starter stash that would last you through one period (washing usually every 2-3 days). The more you have though, the less wear and tear and the longer they'll last.

Look for longer ones at night (ones with pul backing are good for nights and heavy days). Shorter ones are great for days.

Just get one or two to try them out.

That's what I did, and I used them for the first time this week. A little bulkier, but really comfy and nice feeling.

    i want more!!!
