Default Knee surgery and managing a bub

Not sure if this is the best spot to post this...

I am having major knee surgery next month and will be in a knee brace for 6 weeks (rigid, no range of movement). I have a 7 mth old bub who is crawling and is v active. I said yes to the surgery thinkg I'd be best off getting it out of the way and on the road to recovery sooner rather than later, but now i'm not so sure...

Has anyone had knee surgery with a young bub? How have you managed? Should I put off the surgery until bub is a bit older??

Yes I'll have crutches and can move around but can't drive as having right knee done and we live in a highset house so going in and out will be a nightmare I imagine!!

4 kids would have been tough!!! Here I am petrified how I'll cope with one!!!

Thanks for the suggestions Mrs Casper.

    Hi,
I had knee surgery in 2002, thats when i only had two children!! And they were able to help me. I put off having surgery when they were little because i did'nt think i could cope with two little ones and crutches, i was also on my own at the time. It was kind of a good decison and a bad one, i found that i ended up doing more damage to my knee and had to live with pain in it all the time. I also now have done some damage to my other knee because i favoured the bad knee so much.
If you can get some help with bubby go for it, don't wait like i did. I also found that hiring a wheelchair for the first couple of weeks helped me to get around. So much easier to carry some thing on your lap, than trying to juggle crutches and what ever you need to carry. Also you will be able to pick bub up if needed, just wacth out for your sore knee!!
Anyway good luck with it all....
