maybe you could put a notice up at a shop asking for someone who could help u get your hundred hours up for the licence in exchange for some gardening or something u can take kids along to.

also, is there a local landcare or wildlife rescue group you can get involved with, that could be a way to make friends who have kids too and are kid friendly events to go to. you can usually get a lift from people like that too, their cars already have baby bolts if they've got kids.
