Default is your childs eczema worst at the moment?

Just wondering has anyone noticed their childs eczcema is worse at the moment? DD has the flu but she looks shocking shes breaking out everywhere, not sure if its a combination of a rash from the flu (shes hit a high temp today so thought it might be breaking you know how some get a rash when they are getting better?) shes been itching like mad and has lots of blotches all over her at the moment its so sad

Usually i find July her bad month but seems to have hit her really bad

Here are some pics what do you think its sorry pics didnt show up too well I think shes just got a pretty good dose thats all when i thought i was on top of it again! GRRRR

My Gosh the poor lil darlin she must be so so itchy DD has also only just broken out really bad It makes me so sad to watch her scratch I try so hard to keep the area moist but she keeps scratching at the moment I'm using an oil from a health food store called NUI COCONUT OIL and it actually seems to be working its not an excema oil but is used for sooooo many different things so I tried on her excema and its working I started using it 3 days ago and can already see an improvement the patches are getting smaller and not as red

DS's was through August, it has settled down now, but I think his is attributed to the chlorine in the pool too..... as it is always worse after swimming... (yes he gets a wash afterwards)...

His skin was pretty good up until around the start of August..

It doesn't look too bad, but lots of hugs for her
I've seen WAY WAY worse - the girls cousin has it way bad, though the constant swimming in chlorine wouldn't help it

The itchings making it worse at least its not like it usually as it usually weeps but seems that apart from just having it in her joints etc as it usually is, shes got it all over her dont think i want to cover her in her prescription creme like this usually as its patches i can

Will look at that oil though that you mention hayleysmummy i have just given her a nice bath to try stop but coz shes quiet warm seems to have made it worse grrr

Your poor little girl for her, it looks really itchy.

Thankfully my kids don't have it, but I do and it is really bad at the moment

I hope she is feeling better really soon.

Apparently, because winter is much drier than our usual humid summers, the air plays havoc with dry skin conditions like eczema. Colds and flu bugs weaken the immune system and the eczema just seems to take over. We had to up our application of hydrocortisone from every second day to every day over winter and it still hasn't resolved enough to drop back to every second day. Guess we may have to wait another month or so to do that.

DS has it really bad atm too, the skin is broken open and weeping.

I've tried hydrocortisone, and I've just got some Carolines cream, which works sometimes, it doesn't get rid of it but it smoothes his skin for a little while.

I don't know what else to use, he scratches his head all the time and it bleeds so I have to put mittens on his hands all the time.
