    Default tampons after giving birth?

I was just wondering if anyone who has has a baby vaginally can tell me how long (how many months) it was before they started using tampons again?

After having a 9 pound baby and suffering a "moderate" vaginal prolapse (several posts in the birth trauma section) I'm having trouble getting a tampon to sit right and stay in properly. I've read that this can be a symptom of prolapse, but was just wondering if this was something that happened after straight forward, uncomplicated vaginal births anyway?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I tried to use tampons after about 6 weeks when i was comfy having sex etc however ever since i had kids i cant use them, i dont know why but they just dont feel right for me. I was bruised and battered after dd1 but my other two labours were quiet easy no tearing etc no trauma. I just cant use them it doesnt feel right and feels like they are going to fall out if that makes sense. I still feel the same down there during sex which is wierd

Not sure what others expereinces are though hope you get some answers

DD2 was 9 lb 1 delivered vaginally. I didn't have any problems using tampons after, although I did wait for 2 months to try.

DD1 was 8lb 5oz, giving me a third degree tear. AF didn't return for 18mths while breastfeeding, and wasn't regular until she stopped feeding. I didn't use tampons until she stopped feeding, they just felt too weird with the scar tissue.

i am not sure if you are interested in alternatives to tampons but there are quite a few threads about menstrual cups on the Hub. I can vouch for these.
