Default My DSS is not eating

My DSS has been under alot of stress lately and due to that he is not eating and he is loosing ALOT of weight. My DF and I am getting so worried. We took him to the doctor last week, for his age and weight his BMI should be in between 30-35 but it's only 15. Our doc wasn't very helpful in regards to ideas on getting him to eat, all he really said was if he does not want to eat don't force him and he will eventually get hungry enough to eat. Well we tried that and DSS did not eat for 3 days straight. We have tried a differant varieties of food, I have even taken him food shopping after school and asked him what he wants for dinner, he will pick out what he wants we get home. Then I cook at dinner time and still nothing, he just refuses to eat. We think it has to do with stress he is under at the moment. He's doc also said that if he looses anymore weight it can be classified as child abuse

We are at out wits end we have tried everything. Does anyone have any ideas in how we can get him to eat???

    * Mods I am sorry if this is not in the right place, please move if it's not *

hmmm.. I had an eating disorder when I was younger so thought I might be able to give some advice but now I'm not really sure.. Only thing I can think of is maybe making some milkshakes (you know the high protein or whatever ones to help put on weight) just until he does decide to eat agin.
Is there anyway to minimize the stress he's under at the moment?
Maybe involve him in preparing meals?

hope someone slightly more helpful can give you some good advice hun. You must be so worried.

Well all the stress is comming from his mum, she wants full custody of him so she is telling all these bad things about me and DF, my DSS does not want to go there and see her because of this but if we tell her that she threatens to call the police as she thinks were stopping him from going...

Yeah I never thought of those protein shake, will give them a try

    my pleasure

In regards to what his mum is doing is it possible to get a court ordered councellor for him? (I'm assuming the custody thing is going through court? sorry if I'm wrong)
Might help if he can talk to someone totally impartial to the situation.. Poor boy, that's so not right!
