Default 1 day sleep of 1.5 hours at 10 months

My DS is 10 months and has just started to drop his morning sleep. He was having 1.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon.
He goes to bed at 6.30pm-7pm and is up at 5.30am-6am for a boobie and then back to bed until 7.30am-8am.
He needs to go back to sleep after lunch and so I'm putting him down at any time from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. The probelm is, he only sleeps for 1.5 hours. He really needs a little more as by dinner time at 5pm he's ferral!
Being that he's only just started to do it, will he start to sleep longer at that one sleep?

Sarah started to do the same thing when she was you DS's age. She'd never been a great sleeper, esp during the day, and we hit a really bumpy patch just before her first birthday.

Around 12 months, I have no idea how or why, she reverted to two 45 - 60 minute naps, but then shortly afterwards dumped that system in favour of one longer sleep in the middle of the day - usually around 2 hours, a tad longer on a good day!

It's hard when you don't seem to get a break during the day, isn't it? Seeing as he is sleeping so well at night for you, personally I wouldn't try changing things to drastically during the day. I'd hate for you to loose that great block of zzzzzz time at night!
