    Question Flavoured Formula

    Hi all

Didn't know where to put this..

Where i live it seems to be the latest trend to give babies under 1yr a little bit of nesquik in thier bottles with formula or breastmilk.
At first i thought this was stupid but then got me thinking on the rare occasion i have to give my 7 month old DD a formula bottle and she absolutely hates formula.. so if i was to put just a tiny bit of nesquik in it do you think she'd be more inclined to take it?

Please don't shoot me down..it's just a thought.

No, I don't think it's a good idea, don't do it. Nesquik is nothing but sugar and it will rot her little teeth

She will get use to the formula if you keep trying. I mean try the expressing first cos that milk is better for her. But if all else fails just keep offereing the formula, she will take it if she is hungry enough.

i don't think giving er nesquik is a good idea! Loads of sugar! Have you tried a different brand of formula? My bub tried s26 and gagged and threw it up straightaway but then i tried the heinz nurture and he drank as if it was breast milk! so maybe you could try a different formula? Just a thought. Good luck

Totally agree with all the other posts here. I have b/f all mine and have heaps of milk and I find it really hard expressing by hand or manual pump too unless I use an electric one (you know that you can hire and then I can fill 2 bottles in about 5 minutes.

Also getting them used to flavoured milks etc at this age will make it really hard to encourage water drinking also. A lot of the chemists will have samples of the formulas also that they will give you rather than buying a whole container that you will then waste. Maybe give this a try.

Good luck and let us know how you go.
