How do we go back?

Before christmas Ryan was really good with self settling. When putting him to bed for the night he would listen to his star that went for 10 minutes and by the end he would have drifted off to sleep. Even during the day if he wanted a nap he would just lie on his pillow and drift off. No assistance (other then his dummy) was required.

But.....

With our recent move and christmas holidays with our family (going from place to place) we really got out of routine (plus environment) and now we are finding we are needing to hold him to go to sleep otherwise he will scream as soon as the star gets turned on (during the day it is not a problem) and of course now he can pull himself up he just stands there...

I know about controlled crying and i have tried to do this to a degree but as I am on my own these days I am finding that alittle difficult...

Do any of you mums have any tips or advice on how I can get Ryan to self settle again without the screaming? I really need this to happen before bub #2 arrives in June!

Don't have any advice for you but I know what you are going throught... The same thing has happenned to my DS... Since christmas plus the fact he started teething, he has been harder to settle... I have just tried to keep doing the things that were working before, with slight modifications..
