How old will the kids be?? If they are older I have stacks of ideas, but for one year olds - no idea. My bub is having his first birthday party soon too but all the kids will be under 12 months so we wont have any games.

My daughter turned one on the 6th of Jan and because all the bubbas were her age and younger we didnt have games either. Instead I went to the toy library and hired some cool playgyms and stuff - it was a big hit with the babies!

My bub is only 6 months, but this is what I remember from my parties growing up.

Tie a piece of string around a donut and hang it from the pergola. The kids have to eat the donut without using their hands. Could be good for the older ones, just adjust the string to their height.

    Pass the Parcel

    Musical Chairs

water games were always fun (my b'd is in summer). water pistols, buckets, etc.

if you backyard is big enough how about some old schoolyard faves like All Over Red Rover and Dodgeball.

Sorry, I'm not really of much help. Hope someone comes along soon that is more useful

A treasure hunt would be great for the span of age groups you are catering for. Kids love this game.

Thanks mummabear. It is a great game. It is always a hit and simple enough for the younger ones to join in
