    Default Nurse Appointment Today

We took DD to a nurse appointment today (15 months appointment). Mom and I couldn’t wait to spill our guts out about her not eating, not walking, etc. It’s been so frustrating, specially the eating part.

The nurse is so lovely and was so happy with Layla's development. She reassured us that Layla is growing fine, she is crawling, standing up, dancing, pointing, clapping, she is a whole 9 kilos now! And has grown 5 cm since her last appointment, 3 months a go. We were so happy to hear that.

With her eating, she said not to worry, she is obviously eating what she feels its necessary, she is teething as well, we do have to make adjustments to her diet though and incorporate more of the ‘good stuff’, offer 4 meals a day and stop the chip supply (she only wants to eat hot chips). I also mentioned that she had been constipated and I gave her some OJ - that did the trick and she is fine now. She said it was the fibre in the juice that worked (she doesn't eat any fruit).

She said it’s OK if she doesn’t eat some days, the hunger will kick in come Day 3 and she will eat some. She won’t starve, which I knew but it made me feel so much better to hear it from a ‘professional’. I feel so much better, I can't begin to explain, so relieved!

    Him - 30
Layla - 3 years old (born on 17/04/06 by emergency c-section) - started walking 2 days prior to turning 17 months!

My dear mother looks after Layla while we work (her only grandchild so far....)

Thats great sometimes it helps reassure you hearing it from someone else

DD was a terrible eater too but eventually she realised that she had to eat and eventually gave in and ate what was put in front of her!

Sounds like a really positive experience for you which is great to hear
