Question what drugs can i take...

for really bad AF pain? I have brufen(ibuprofen-non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) and panadeine forte. which would be better?(have been taking both for migraines and a chest infection/fever)

maybe I should ring the chemist

You can see your GP and get prescribed meds for it.

As a pharmacy assistant I can tell you that they can be taken together. The anti-inflammatory for the cramping and the PF for the pain. Sometimes the anti-inflam can reduce cramps therfore resulting in less pain. If you just take the PF you willmask the pain but not reduce the cramps.
If you are breast feeding it is not reccomended to take the anti-inflam. You can take the PF but be cautious that it may make your bub constipated...and yourself for that matter.

I personally take ibuprofen for AF pain - or I used to. Just make sure you take it with a full tummy, it can irritate the lining of your stomach otherwise.

(I'm a bit naughty and sometimes take it WITH panadeine - the drugs in each don't interact, so you can take them together....It knocks you out though, so be aware)

Digesic really works for my migraines and any kind of pain that needs something stronger than panadol. I'm allergic to codeine and was prescribed digesic after having my wisdom teeth out. Also had digesic after having the kiddly-winks. It's really good! You can't take it with panadol, but you can also have ibuprofen with it if you need to.

You can get Dolased over the counter for migraines and Af pains but it does knock you out so is best taken at bedtime. It works great for my migraines. Havent used it for other pain though.

Mersyndol is also fairly good for migraines AND period pain - its got a muscle relaxant in it, and its wonderful - makes you sleep though - and make sure you get the nighttime version if you get it - the daytime is just basically panadeine
