    Default Stretch Marks

Anyone know how to get rid of old ones or prevent new ones?? I didnt have one stretch mark before I fell pregnant, and now that I am pregnant again I dont want to get more (not that there is much room left on my body for new ones.......you are lucky that I love you DD!!!!)

i know you dont want to hear this, but its very impossible to make them disappear :P
i have tons of stretch marks , and i also have no more room for anymore!
however after my 2nd pregnancy i had a 6-7 year break before my next pregnancy and in that time they faded dramatically.
theyre all still there but just faded.
i have heard you can get a laser surgery done to help it. but remember it is the skin underneath that is torn.. so cant really repair that hey
anyways maybe look into the laser proceedure, if your serious about it.

think i will one day in the future !
    good luck

Yeah I didnt really think there was much I could do to get rid of the old ones (mine have faded too since having my DD - she is now 5) I guess I am more worried about getting new ones this pregnancy. Anyone know any miraculous cream that prevents them???

I knew a lady who was a quite small build that has had two pregnancy's and not one stretch mark and she puts it down to rubbing apricot kernal oil (i think it's from nutrimetics) on her belly, hips and bum everyday for her pregnancy. I ordered mine too late as the day it came in I got my first stretch mark!!! Bummer, but she swears by it. It's not a moisturiser - although there is one like that, it's orange sort of colour and you get it out of the tub with a little spatula type thing. Hope this helps!

I can imagine that apricot kernel oil doing the trick - it's called nutri-rich oil. It's quite expensive though, I think $40 a tub.

The thing I use is called bio-oil ($12.95 from the chemist) and it has prevented more stretch marks from pregnancies #2 and #3. I've still got lots of silvery grey ones from 5 years ago though - don't think they're going anywhere

I too used Bio-Oil i just used to put it all over my belly and tops of thighs, i think you can also put a few drops into the bath and soak in it (as long as it's not too hot). hope that helps

I am using some oil called "belli" oil. I rub this in every day followed by pure shea butter that I bought from perfect potion. I dont know if it will do the trick, but I find that massaging my bump in the evenings with oil is quite relaxing and I feel like I am bonding with bub iykwim

I was just wondering at what stage stretch marks start to appear. I am 21 1/2 weeks now. I have been massaging a concoction of belli oil and bio-oil followed by the shea butter. My tummy feels so soft and smooth and if nothing else it does feel pampering. I was just wondering if there is a particular stage that they start to appear?

Pure Rosehip Oil worked for me...Reeeeeeally expensive, but if you rub it in while the marks are still pink, it should work.

I was positive I was prone to stretchmarks (considering I have some from when I was about 15), but when I got pregnant I thought I'd do everything in my power to prevent them. Yes, I moisturise everyday after my shower, but the thing I put most faith in is Zinc supplements...

Zinc is good for skin repair and recommended for during pregnancy anyway. Bottom line - no stretchmarks last pregnancy (belly or boobs) and none this pregnancy so far - 22.5weeks (touch wood). Another supplement which is supposed to be good is fish oil - I put a lot more trust into what we put into the body as the stretch marks come from a lot deeper than the surface that moisturisers act on - however, the massage which we give our bodies with moisturisers has to be beneficial too.
