Ok Ladies, We have unofficially been advised we are posted to Townsville. I have been there before but was single and did not have a family. So.. I need the lowdown on a few things.

Schools
- I have a 4yo (turning 5 in April) and a 6yo who will need a primary school. Any feedback here? Also what time does school start/finish over there?
- I have a teenager turning 15 in April and will need a high school. She is currently in a private school but will accept all options. She is an academically gifted child and has been assessed by the Gerric Program twice. Once in Primary and this year again. Any suggestions.

Childcare
Don't think I will need it but would not use the Defence Childcare Program if I was paid a million bucks. Would take community child care over this any day. Am interested in before / after school care options, unless 4yo does not qualify for primary. Any feedback here?

Work
How do you find finding work over there? Difficult or easy? I work in accounting industry and would like to find something part-time. What do you think my chances are?

Fun
What do you do for fun? Where are the good places to go? With and without Family?

Sport
What kinds of sport do you have your kids into? We are into rugby union here. Any union mums out there? What is the low-down on your club? Joining fees etc?

Housing
What is housing like? Do you get airconditioning? How do you handle the heat? Where do most people live?

RLLT
Do you get RLLT?

Removalists?
Dare I ask???? Any great experiences? Any warning offs?

I know I can access DCO support on these things but would prefer feedback from those at the Coal face for the moment. I will contact REDLO for school stuff once I have a few ideas, that way I can be a little more effective.
