This sauce is great as most older kids and toddlers alike love spaghetti bol and they gobble this up without relaising it is full of vegies. You could still add some lean mince if you like.
VEGIE SPAGHETTI SAUCE
Ingredients
1 onion, finely chopped
4 carrots finely chopped
3 stalks of celery finely chopped
100g mushrooms, thinly sliced(or more or less, depending on how much you like mushrooms!)
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp red cooking wine(optional!)
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tbsp sugar
2 large cans puree or crushed tomatoes
crushed red pepper to taste
salt and pepper to taste
Method
* chop or put vegies in food processor
*saute chopped vegies and garlic in frypan until soft
* Add basil and oregano, stir well
*add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1-2 hrs
* put sauce on fav pasta
