Default Does having a cold bring on / delay labour?

I am now 38 weeks and have a rotton cold and feel . Have so little energy, I can hardly imagine how I would go if I was to go into labour early as have been having quite a few weird pains.
Curious as to whether your body might know to 'wait it out' til your better or if its known to bring it on early??!
    Thanks!

I had the worlds worst cold at 37 weeks and had to go on antibiotics, but it didn't bring on labour.. i ended up being overdue.

Good luck, and hope you're feeling better soon!!

I know you've had bub already but I just saw this thread and had to reply Perhaps someone else will benefit.

I was in the same situation as you - with a terrible cold at 38 weeks. Throughout my pregnancy I thought I would go in to labour early. But when the cold happened I had no energy and felt so bad, I thought there's no way I will go in to labour early now. But I did! I had a great birth, completely natural and a quick recovery.

It was actually kinda good having the other pain from the cold to focus on during the birth. Took away from the pain of the contractions
