    Question corsets and breastfeeding

i have a question... do you think wearing a corset (steel boned) could possibly damage milk ducts?

i was thinking of buying myself a new corset to wear out and about in a few weeks time (my first night out since having DD), and wondered if the 'squishing' effect of the corset would affect the ducts?

you should be ok if you only wear it for short periods. if your out and get uncomfy(in the boob area!) just hand express a bit so you dont get too full. hope this helps.....i love corsets!!!

so do i!! i missed wearing them while pregnant!

i didn't think there would be too much risk if i wore it only for a few hours.

i would be concerned about mastitis/blocked ducts. nursing bra's don't have underwire for this reason, that anything presssing into the breast could potentially cause a blocked duct.

but then i got mastitis once from my nightdress pulling across me while i slept and causing a blockage! so i could be extra paranoid.

it is nice to dress up a bit i hope you enjoy your night out .

As long as you're not wearing the corset often I think it would be absolutely fine. Just make sure it is as comfortable as possible.

    Have fun too!!!!
