    Default My Decision.

Ok. So I'm guessing the pro vaccination people will jump on me for this. But I've decided my son will NOT have the MMR shots when he turns one next month.

I have done a huge ammount of study into the pro's and con's and the con's far outweigh the pro's.

Yes all my other children were fully immunised, but I have to be extra careful with Alexander because his father has ADD and we both feel, along with everything else these immunisations can cause, the risk isn't worth taking.

Believe me, this decision wasn't taken lightly. I have a link here for all to read if they wish. But this wasn't the only source, its been months and months of research to come to the best decision for Alexander.

    Good on you

Don't let anybody make you feel bad for, or question YOUR decision, beause its YOUR decision.

As long as you feel comfortable in your decision, then thats all that matters

Um, no. No jumping on anything. You are the only one who can make the decision. You do what you think is the right thing for you and your child.

My son has ADD and I don't feel that the immunusations affected him in any way.

But I would also loke to say that I believe immunissing your kids is a personal decision and not one that should be forced. It really is one where only parents can make the decission for there own children and should not be swayed by other peoples opinions. There are risks on both sides and noone can know what will happen in the future. Pity there wasn't a way of being able to tell if your child was going to have a reaction or not. All my kids are immunised but I was still worried every time that one of them could be the one to have the bad reaction. I wouldn't have let any one force me into making a decision.

Did that make sense? It always sounds different in my head.

I choose to vaccinate, but I would never diss anyone who's done their own research and come to an informed decision (what ever that might be).

And MB, I love the photo of Alexander in your avatar, what a cutie.

Also, I've moved this to the immunisation section to keep all the good info about vaccinations in the one spot.

    Cheers

Thank you xkwzit. I'm bloody terrible at finding the right section LOL And thanks for the Avgtar comment, I adore that pic.

Yes immunisation is a very personal choice. Alexander's dad is very ANTI immunisation, but he agreed with me to have his first three shots because there wasn't much tht could go wrong with those./ It was the MMR shot that we were very concerned over. I hope I've made the right decision for Alexander. h
