Default bad breath! when can we start using toothpaste?

    Hi All

DD is 11 months and eats everything you give her. In the last few days Ive noticed that when she wakes up in the morning she has very bad breath

We have just been "washing" her teeth at night with a wet tooth brush but now I am starting to think perhaps we should be using baby toothpaste? How old do they have to be to be able to use that? Is there anything else we can do for her breath?

    Thanks for reading

    Kate

I started using the milk teeth stuff when the boys were about 12months if she has bad breath i would be starting to use it now only a teeny bit on the brush tho, it foams up really well.

it won't hurt them to swallow a little bit of the paste. otherwise you can try wiping out their mouths with a wet washer.

hmm well they dont really which is why I only use a little bit, the boys practice spitting it out with water so maybe show her or brush ur teeth to show her how u do it, i give them a cup and have a drink after sometimes they spit, but i'm pretty sure it wont hurt 'em

katiek, toothpaste should be fine for this age (i think there is toothpaste on the market for 6months+) but it might also be worth checking to see if she has a sore throat. My DD always gets bad breath when she gets tonsilitis. Might be worth check out.
