My husband and I are considering having another child. I've had one VB and two caesareans, one code blue emergency and the other an elective due to placenta previa.

What I am wondering is if we were lucky enough to have another child, if we went through the public system (I'm in NSW), would I be made to try for a VBAC or having had two previous caesareans could I opt for an elective?

Our elective caesarean was a wonderful, positive experience, whilst my experiences with having a natural birth and trying for one were very scary with the life of the child very much at risk.

Thanks in advance.

How long do they usually let you labour for before performing the scheduled c-section? Or how far dilated? I am guessing it couldn't go on too long as you wouldn't want bub too far down the birth canal?

Do hospitals usually allow this?

Thanks!

Did you stick to the six weeks strictly? Or is it ok to get out for short walks with the pram? I don't want to too much too soon and do damage to my stitches.

Thanks!
