Have you always wanted to be a blogger?
The Bub Hub has more than 80,000 members and more than 750,000 unique viewers a month. Imagine having your blog in front of that many parents and parents-to-be!
How to apply!
You blog has to be unique (not already featured on another site) and a new post should be added regularly! We are particularly looking for information-based blogs. Topics could include planning kids parties, shopping on a budget, decorating nurseries etc etc.
If you have an idea for blog that you'd like to have featured on the Bub Hub, please apply in writing to info@bubhub.com.au.
Register as a blogger!
Once we approved your blog you'll need to register as a user (if you're not already) and then have your membership upgraded to blogger!1. If you're an existing member and we've approved your blog idea email
info@bubhub.com.au with your username so we can change your settings. Not all members can post blogs so we need to give you special access.
2. If you're not a Bub Hub member, please
register so you can get started!! Choose a username that is appropriate for your blog. Once you’ve registered please click on the activation email and then email
info@bubhub.com.au with your username so we can change the settings to allow you to be a blogger. Oh, and make sure you add an avatar too (find this under the User Control Panel). All avatars must be 80x80 pixels and no larger than 20kb in size.
Write your first blog post!1. Log into the
Bub Hub Blog section
2. You’ll see a list of recent blog posts. To add your first blog post scroll down to the button that says " + Create New Post
3. Give your post a title and then blog away. It is very much the same as posting a thread on the forum.
4. Preview to see what your blog looks like or just 'Save Changes' - you can always go back to edit later!
5. Make sure you assign your blog to a category so it is easy to search for later and is easy to find using search engines
Add photos to your blog!
See the little icon of a tree? That is the upload image icon. Click on it and it opens a new window. To add an image click on 'Select Files' then choose the image from your computer. Once it uploads the window should close and the attached image will be in your text.
Give your blog a name!
So you've put in your first blog post but you can give your blog a general title as well. Don't stress if you don't. It will just default to your username which is probably quite appropriate.
If you'd like to give your blog a title, click on the User Control Panel.
Scroll down until you see Blog in the left-hand column! Click on Blog to see your blog settings. At the bottom of this page are your Blog Settings. The first one is 'Edit Title & Description". Click on it to give your Blog a title and to add a description. Now each blog post you do will come under than one blog title. Each post will have its own title too.
General tips!
To edit your post, hover your mouse near the post's title and you'll see an image of a pencil. Click this to edit.
Make sure you put a few lines of text in before you upload an image … if you post an image first it will feed through a bit weird when it goes into our ‘Most Recent Blogs’ box on the homepage.
Make sure your images are small before you try to upload them.
To make sure you don't lose your post (in case the forum times out) type it up in Notepad then copy and paste it.
Typing your blog post in Notepad is best. If you type it into Microsoft Word then copy and paste it, it will bring all the formatting with it. Notepad strips the formatting away.
