Can you knit? Let's help keep kids warm this winter ...
I'm writing this because I can't knit and I feel guilty about it.
Maybe you've heard of the 2012 Guardian Angel Knitting Program ... basically the program runs through June to August and it encourages knitters across all skill levels to pick up sticks and knit some winter woolies for children in need.
With enthusiasm I picked up a kit and opened the booklet ready to knit up a storm ...
Unfortunately I forgot that I couldn't knit. Not a bit. Have failed many attempts, have frustrated my mother and grandmother many times over as they tried to teach me. Received a 'D' for home ecomonics in Year 8.
So I failed yet again. I've passed on the knitting needles to my sister-in-law and she's taken over from where I left off.
Luckily what I lack in knitting skills I make up for with my writing skills.
So I write to you all hoping that someone - or someone's nana - who is handy with the knitting needles might pick up a free pattern book from their local Guardian Pharmacy and get knitting ...
The campaign runs till the end of August and is in partnership with Variety - The Children's Charity!
