Film Review: Abraham Lincoln Vampire Slayer
Thanks to Fifty Shades of Grey, everybody on the planet should now know what fan-fiction is (you did know that FSoG is a fan-fiction novel based on the characters from the Twilight series, didn't you?). If not, then best get along and do your research, because fan-fiction and mashup novels are taking the literary world by storm. Abraham Lincoln Vampire Slayer is one example of a mashup novel adapted to the big screen, and as far as genre-bending goes, it doesn't get much sillier than this.
The premise is ludicrous--Abe Lincoln enjoys a secret pastime as a vampire-slayer before finding fame as the 16th President of the United States of America. As long as you keep your mind wide open, then you can have a bit of fun with this film, but it isn't for the feint-hearted. Violence and terror have earned Abraham Lincoln Vampire Slayer a MA15+ rating, but personally, I think it deserves an R rating.
I did manage to find a scratch or two of enjoyment in this film, read why here.
