What's on in Brisbane this weekend: 14-15 July
Rain-soaked Brisbane is looking fairly quiet this weekend, but here's a few suggestions on where to go to entertain the kids:
The circus is in town! Cirque du Soleil brings its vibrant new production of OVO to Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Said to be the most quirky, colourful, and lovable show yet, tickets start from $74, available from Ticketek.
Have a laugh at the FREE Young Blood Comedy Festival at Brisbane Powerhouse on Saturday night. Performances begin at 7.15 pm, registration on their website is essential.
Looking for something a bit more continental? South Bank will be full of joie de vivre on Saturday at the annual Brisbane French Festival. Delicious food, fabulous live entertainment, an amazing raffle, pavilions and markets will keep you busy while the kids will love the array of activities at Le Kids Corner. Sticking with the world theme, the Colombian National Day Festival is on at The Australian Hellenic Sports Centre, Yeronga. Activities, games, classes, dances, music and mouth-watering Colombian food will be available with the fun expected to linger until waaaay into the night. Samford Show promises to be bigger and better than ever this year with hayloads of country fun on the cards. Plenty for the kids to do with a nightly fireworks display on both days (Saturday and Sunday). Overnight camping is available if you want to make a weekend of it!
