What's on in Brisbane this weekend: 1-3 June 2012
Another cracking weekend of things to do in Brisbane. Ain't this just a happenin' town?
The city is under yarn attack today, as Bris-stylers are inviting crafty people to yarn-bomb King George Square. A great way to brighten up the square on a cold, wintry day! Click here for more information about this fun event.
Northsiders would be mad to miss the Albany Fair at All Saints School, Albany Creek. This thing gets bigger and better each year, earning itself a reputation as a mini-EKKA. There's rides, face-painting, prizes to be won, and yummy food stalls stacked with home-made treats. Entry is FREE; the fun commences from 10am till 4pm, 4 Faheys Road, Albany Creek.
If you're over that side of town, you might want to join in with Samford's Super Sunday Sattya Yoga Session from 10am till noon. Focusing on Mind and Movement, the class is suitable for all levels of yoga and is FREE. More details and registration here.
Closer to the city is the Government House Open Day in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. A FREE day of family activities from 10am till 3pm – bring a picnic! More details are on this flyer.
Meanwhile, southsiders might want to get along to the Logan Eco Action Festival (LEAF) at Griffith University, Logan. Get close to nature browsing through the many exhibits or teach your children a thing or two in the all-day Kid's Zone. Entry is FREE, activities kick off from 10am till 3pm. More information can be downloaded here.
Winter is coming (haven't you heard?) so if you're thinking about heading to the snow this year, perhaps you should head to the Wilston Village Fair instead! They're giving away a trip for two to Whistler, Canada. As well as groovy competitions, there is plenty more to enjoy at the fair which is on Sunday from 11am till 7pm. FREE entry!
Have a great weekend!
