Hello Mamas With Style, how's it hanging?

I have been missing in action the past few weeks as I have been a little bit busy having a baby - yes that's right, for anyone who missed my last post - on 24 March I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Finn Charles, a little brother to my three-year-old, Zac Xavier.

Words cannot describe how in love we are with our new addition, and after much coo-ing and gushing (and writing up my pregnancy diary which will be in August's edition of Practical Parenting), I am now back in the land of the living, and eager to share with you some fabulous items which I have found invaluable since little Finn came into the world.

In fact, my next few posts are going to be a revelation of all the wonderful baby items that I have discovered this time around.

My top five newborn items I am going to share with you today are:

1. Sorella & Me Pregnancy/Nursing Nightwear

What can I say - amazing! I was given a set consisting of the cami and pyjama pants as a gift at my baby shower and after wearing them once, I bought more!

Made from organic cotton, they are super soft - not only on your skin but on the skin of your newborn and with no zips or nasty sharp bits, you can easily throw your baby against your chest and know it is almost as soft as your skin.

They are also extremely comfortable, not to mention stylish, and go over your baby bump/deflating tummy just perfectly. I have to admit I wore the whole pyjama cami set and lounge wrap to the deli on the way home from the hospital and no-one batted an eyelid! What can I say - I needed to get my soft cheese fix that I had been denied for so long!

Anyhoo, have a look at their website if you are looking for beautiful pregnancy and nursing nightwear, I can't recommend it highly enough (as you can probably tell) - www.sorellaandme.com.au

2. Lassig Baby Bag

I am thrilled with my new Lassig baby bag (new baby, new baby bag, right?).

My gripes with the bag I used for Zac were that I never seemed to have enough room for all my items, it didn't close easily (think zipping it up with one hand whilst juggling a baby with the other) and it didn't attach to my pram properly. In fact, it was a pain. My Lassig baby bag, conversely, is not only uber stylish but super practical too and I love it!

German-made and eco friendly, they are apparently relatively new to Australian shores, and mine also has switchable front flaps which means I can change the look of the bag in a jiffy, fabbo. It further has a change mat, bottle holder, various compartments and pouches galore, plus it attaches to my Bugaboo, hooray!

Because it is nice and large, I can use it for Zac too - there is room for his snacks, a drink and a couple of toys when we are out and about for him, which makes my life so much easier.

I have dug out a stockists number if you are interested - it is 1300 661 885, or just have a look online.

3. Fourzero Baby Blanket

I was given a new baby blanket for Finn made my fourzero and I adore it. Made from organic bamboo and cotton it is ultra luxe and ultra soft for newborns. I like it so much, I also got him a baby sleeping bag and burp cloth in the same range. Even after washing, the items are still silky soft. They really are beautiful quality and so breathable.

Further, they are Australian-made which can be hard to find nowadays. Certainly stylish and functional, good quality sleep gear is so worth investing in.

4. Milk Baby Skincare

A range of baby skincare products which were free of chemicals and made using only natural ingredients was a big must for me. I really wanted to know that what I was putting on Finn's skin was not going to harm him in any way, but instead would become an enjoyable part of his bathtime routine. I looked at lots of different companies and fell in love with Milk Baby by Lindy Klim.

Made using the most natural of ingredients using certified organic oils and extracts, the products are beautiful and leave Finn's skin cleansed and soft. They also smell divine - but again, it is all natural. I particularly love the Bathtime Wash and the Sleepy Bubs Massage Oil. The latter I rub into Finn's skin before bed to relax him and he is now sleeping through the night at nine weeks, so I must be doing something right!

5. Little Silver Prints Bracelet

This entry isn't so much a newborn essential as a treat for mum, but hell, that counts, right? This blog is for Mamas With Style, after all!

After having Finn, I decided I would like something to have on me always to remind me of my boys and so after some looking around I chose a gorgeous silver chain bracelet with my husband's and two sons' initials attached as silver letterpress charms. I love it. It is so special to me, I haven't taken it off. I feel like my brood of gorgeous hunks is with me wherever I am.

Little Silver Prints were fabulous in taking my order and answering all my questions and I totally recommend dealing with them. They also do little handprint and fingerprint charms and jewellery if that is more your thing, it is just lovely to have a little keepsake.

Their website is at www.littlesilverprints.com.au.

So that's it from me for today. Catch me later in the week when I talk about the two items I used to help me recover from my c-section and get that tummy back. They were my lifesavers.
