Jivin' with the Jabbawockeez at Jupiters
Last week, we made our way to Jupiters Hotel & Casino on the Gold Coast to see their latest show spectacular, MÜS.I.C (muse-i-see) by the sensational Jabbawockeez. We thought it might have been a bit of a risk taking three kids (aged 5, 4 and 5mths) to an evening show that promised lots of light and noise, but we were oh-so-wrong to worry: the show was a-mazing. A week later, the kids are still talking about it (except for bubby, who is still drooling).
The show flies by in a mind-boggling 90 minutes of spectacular dance moves, hilarity, and stunning light sequences. All three kids were hooked throughout the entire performance, not wanting it to end, and hubby and I loved it equally as much. It isn't often that a show comes along that can genuinely entertain the whole family, but MÜS.I.C certainly does exactly that, with the added bonus of imparting a few moral messages about peace, love, and harmony along the way.
A few notes and hints: the show is very loud, and even though my little bubba loved it, some parents with babies might prefer to sit toward the back where it is slightly less ear-splitting. Booster seats are provided for small children. Strollers are not allowed inside the theatre itself, but you can leave them safely parked outside the main doors. Please be aware that strobe lighting is used in the show. The staff were wonderfully approachable and helpful; they couldn't do enough for us, which was both unexpected and refreshing. Go, have fun, with or without the kids.
More information, including tickets and show times are available on the Jupiters Hotel and Casino website. Dinner/Lunch packages are available from $69, children under four are FREE. Make a day of it, or stay at the casino and make a weekend of it.
