Film Review: Iron Sky

Rate this Entry
I was so looking forward to reviewing Iron Sky--it's a great idea that has been lovingly developed with input from real fans via social networking contributions and crowdfunding. This is, I believe, the future of film-making, so the potential here is enormous. Moreover, the film was partly shot on our very own Gold Coast, and stars Aussie actress Peta Sergeant, so I was keen to support local cinema production.

Sadly, the film is a disappointment, and where the premise is catchy and engaging, everything else about the film is vapid and forgettable. Having said that, some of the CGI is stunning, but there isn't enough of it to maintain much of an impression. Anyone who has been following the development of Iron Sky will get a thrill out of seeing the completed product; everyone else just won't see what all the fuss is about.
