I accidentally used a manual breast pump ... wait a minute ... that sounds like I fell over and landed on one while not wearing a shirt - which is dumb.
Although not quite as dumb as what I ACTUALLY did. I bought an electric pump for more than $200 and after using the very first time I immersed it in water. Yep - even though one of the first things in the instruction manual is "DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER". Clearly I was suffering from an expensive case of baby brain and sleep deprivation.
Luckily for me the electric pump could easily transform into a manual pump. Unluckily for my wallet - as if I'd bought the manual pump in the first place I could have saved about $150.

"The pump did do its job though, was very tiring to use, and is definately a two-handed process. One good thing about it was that it fitted any standard baby bottle, and also was easy to attach the special milk bags to store the milk in the freezer, saved a lot of room.
