This week as part of Postnatal Depression Awareness Week, Bubhub will be providing information and resources on a different type of depression each day. On Monday we are looking at the Baby Blues, on Tuesday - Postnatal Depression; Wednesday - Antenatal Depression; Thursday - Postpartum Psychosis and on Friday - Depression in Men.

The Baby Blues are not the same thing as Postnatal Depression, which we will
look at in more detail tomorrow.

In last week's poll we asked 'What does your little one think of your bouncer/rocker/swing?' 70% said you couldn’t live without it as your little one loves it and 30% of you said that sometimes your little one loved it, and sometimes not.

2. Local Ambassadors – These local coordinators work to set up face-to-face meetings in their local area and to help keep their community informed about local activities, events and resources. They typically post in the ‘Local groups, playgroups and meetups’ area on the forum so check your local area to see what is happening. If there is nothing listed there, check the list of Ambassadors and feel free to contact your local person to find out if anything is planned. And if there isn’t a local Ambassador, would you like to be one? Memorable Parenting Moments Musical Statues

Vaccinations
We received a press release from the Australian Medicines Industry about attitudes towards vaccination which we shared on the forum and our Facebook page late last week. To say that vaccinations are a highly contentious issue which polarise opinion would be an understatement! Several people had personal experience of life-threatening reactions to vaccines and were understandably very much against them, while others were adamant that immunity across society can only be sustained if people participate in the vaccination process. There were heated discussions about how vaccines are produced, the potential and possible side effects, the moral obligations of people living within a community, the dangers to newborns and the elderly if exposed to non-vaccinated children, and the longevity of vaccines.

On the whole people seem in support of vaccinating and in our Facebook poll on vaccinations 854 people agreed with the statement that they had vaccinated with vaccines, 9 people had chosen to try homeopathy, 3 used both vaccines and homeopathy, and 31 people chose not to vaccinate.
