I know that when my body went through a humungous shape shift when I was carrying my twins, I couldn't wait to finally buy a good pair of maternity jeans.

They all looked so cute and comfy, finally I could invest in a pair.

But then I thought – "oh, I'll only wear them for, like, eight months,

  2. Film Review: A Royal Affair

by , 28-06-2012 at 13:49 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
It's been a while since a good period drama hit the screens, but after seeing A Royal Affair, I reckon it was worth the wait. Recounting the story of one of the most illicit affairs in Danish history, A Royal Affair is a feast for the senses. Everything about it is first class: acting, casting, direction, camerawork are all excellent, but the real praise belongs to the costume, make-up and set-design. The whole film is stunning to watch and utterly gripping. If you get the chance, go and see A Royal ...

In the news a couple of months ago was a report that babies whose parents choose a 'baby-led weaning' feeding style may be at a lower risk of obesity than those who are spoon fed.

  5. Film Review: That's My Boy

by , 26-06-2012 at 15:15 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
Dads, if you're looking for a great film that you can share with your son over the holidays--you know, the kind of father/son film that you can enjoy together, laugh at, maybe even shed a tear at; the kind of film that you'll be talking about for days, months, perhaps years afterwards--then go rent Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The latest Adam Sandler film, That's My Boy, is a whole bunch of silliness, and even though it is nowhere near as bad as 2011's Jack and Jill, it isn't much better, ...
