  1. Film Review: Finding Nemo 3D

by , 27-08-2012 at 15:02 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
The first time I saw Finding Nemo on the big screen was nine years ago when my husband and I were touring Wales. We'd stopped in Cardiff for a few nights and decided to pop out and see a movie in the town centre, and of all the choices available at the box office, the latest Disney animated spectacular was clearly the outstanding option. This was in an old life pre-kids, but the great thing about Disney (in case you hadn't noticed) was that you don't need to be a kid to fall in love with a Disney ...
  2. Film Review: The Dark Knight Rises

by , 19-07-2012 at 12:10 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
Judging from reviews already circulating, critics seem to like The Dark Knight Rises more than the general public, which must surely be a first for a comic-book adaptation. For me, The Dark Knight Rises is a great big film with great big problems. Some qualities of the film are breath-taking, while others are confusing and a little puerile.

  5. Film Review: Katy Perry: Part of Me

by , 05-07-2012 at 13:56 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
Pop sensation Katy Perry is one of a kind. She's probably the most colourful, vibrant, exuberant musician in the world today, and possibly one of the nicest, most hard-working performers to boot. Her documentary, Katy Perry: Part of Me is an intimate, thoughtful insight into the world of Ms Perry, painting a revealing, honest portrait of her which is both admirable and inspiring. The film is suitable for all ages, with no swearing anywhere, which makes it extremely accessible for parents as well ...
