Things to do with kids in Melbourne

  1. Film Review: Finding Nemo 3D

by , 27-08-2012 at 15:02 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
The first time I saw Finding Nemo on the big screen was nine years ago when my husband and I were touring Wales. We'd stopped in Cardiff for a few nights and decided to pop out and see a movie in the town centre, and of all the choices available at the box office, the latest Disney animated spectacular was clearly the outstanding option. This was in an old life pre-kids, but the great thing about Disney (in case you hadn't noticed) was that you don't need to be a kid to fall in love with a Disney ...
  2. Film Review: The Dark Knight Rises

by , 19-07-2012 at 12:10 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
Judging from reviews already circulating, critics seem to like The Dark Knight Rises more than the general public, which must surely be a first for a comic-book adaptation. OVO submerges you into the buzzing world of insects, with all kinds of chaotic creepy crawlies entertaining you with splashes of colour and imagination. OVO is the most spectacular flea circus ever envisioned! Kids will love the vibrancy and energy of the performance, with 55 performers scaling, flying, swinging, and trapezing their way around the big ...
  4. Film Review: Katy Perry: Part of Me

by , 05-07-2012 at 13:56 (Things to do with kids in Brisbane)
Pop sensation Katy Perry is one of a kind. She's probably the most colourful, vibrant, exuberant musician in the world today, and possibly one of the nicest, most hard-working performers to boot. Her documentary, Katy Perry: Part of Me is an intimate, thoughtful insight into the world of Ms Perry, painting a revealing, honest portrait of her which is both admirable and inspiring. The film is suitable for all ages, with no swearing anywhere, which makes it extremely accessible for parents as well ...

    Hola!

The 15th Spanish Film Festival starts this week in Sydney then moves to various venues around Australia throughout July. The festival showcases the cream of Spanish-language films from around the world, encompassing a number of different genres, including romance, action, thriller, comedy, and drama. Apart from being a great way to support Spanish film-making during Spain's current economic crisis, the festival is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce the family to foreign-language ...
