  1. When a whistle is not a whistle!

[SIZE=2]I was in the kitchen washing the dishes and listening to the radio, (the only time I seem to be able to listen to music is when I'm in the kitchen cleaning or cooking). This song came on and I started humming along, by the end of the song I had caught on to some of the lyrics and was merrily singing along. Well when I say I caught on to the lyrics I didn't really catch on to the lyrics until the song was over and I realised just what I had been singing. Let me give you a few lines:

  2. The Mozart Effect

[SIZE=2]I bought a new play-mat for my son, its the type that has mirrors, and dangly toys hanging from arches and its got music you can switch on. The music that it plays is Mozart. I have a mobile over his cot which also plays Mozart, so what is it with Mozart and babies and is this so called 'Mozart Effect' genuine.

  3. Have The Wiggles jumped the shark??

Jumping the shark usually refers to a point when a TV show that was once great has started to decline in ratings. I believe the term was first used in Happy Days when Fonzie literally jumped a shark in an episode. After this the show didn't seem to have the same credibility as before and it dwindled in ratings. Seinfeld jumped the shark when Elaine cut her hair and while The Wiggles aren't a TV show per se I'm wondering have they jumped the shark by changing the Wiggle line up.

  4. Songs for my Mother

I have a compiled a list of songs that remind me of my Mother, songs she loves to sing, even though as she admits herself she cannot sing.

I have fond memories of my Mum singing songs to me and my sister, my favourite being Kookaburra Sits on the Old Gum Tree.

I won't see my Mum this Mothers Day, she lives too far away. But I will be thinking of her and counting myself lucky I had such a wonderful childhood and hoping I can be as great a Mum as her as I start out on my ...

  5. The Voice

I have been sucked in watching The Voice, I told myself I wouldn't watch it, that there would be no point anyway as I would find it boring. Hellooooooo I love it! I'm not sure how it happened. I was confident I wouldn't get hooked, surely just a quick look wouldn't hurt, would it? My finger hovered over the TV remote control, just a little peek, I gave in and changed the channel. Bam now I'm hooked!
I loved the blind auditions and I love the fact that all of the entrants can actually sing ...
