    An Australian children’s author and illustrator that caught my attention this week is Nick Bland, with his books ‘The Very Cranky Bear, ‘The Very Itchy Bear’ and ‘Some Dads’.

    The illustrations across all three titles are absolutely gorgeous, and the stories don’t disappoint either.

    Who doesn't love a slice of pizza? Thick crust, loads of cheese, toppings galore. Delish. But perhaps some Congressmen in the US have gone a little too far in their personal love of all things pizza, suggesting that Congress should consider pizza a 'vegetable'.

    No kidding. The two tablespoon's of tomato paste that adorn most pizzas, so they argue, should be considered 'a full serving of vegetables' for the purposes of meeting minimum standards for healthy eating in US school canteens.
