Do you mean like heart flutters? I get that all the time especially if I am drinking caffeine. It feels a little odd though dosn't it. I used to get the flutters quite regularly but not so often anymore!

It's called a paroxysmal tachycardia - a sudden increase in heart rate.
I've had it once, and for the life of me could not work out what had caused it - I was just walking into a lecture theatre at uni one day.
I'd speak to your GP about it - he might want to do a few tests.

I agree my GP made me go for tests to check it wasn't a problem etc.

Yes, I very occasionally experience a flutter /palpitation where my heart speeds up and feels like its in my throat. I had some tests done because heart problems are in our family, but my ticker is right and dandy thankgoodness. Do see your Gp though if you're concerned, better to be safe than sorry I say:p
I get them a lot when I've been slack with exercise and then decide to walk 5k :p I don't worry about it unless it gets really bad. :)
Last time I went to the doctor I was told that every woman gets it and I should just deal with it   lovely caring doctor SHE was! She sat up when I mentioned that my mum had Angina by the age of 35.

Yes I get these aswell. For the past 7 years I have been taking a betablocker for my heart to keep my heart rate down. If they do keep re-occuring go see your doctor, better to be safe than sorry. Your heart is the most important thing to look after.
