View Full Version : Question about Nasal-Gastric Tube
Hey ladies!
Just a quick question that popped into my head when I was talking to Danielle earlier about hayden.
I know the tube goes in thru the nose and down the throat into Im guessing their tummys. But what about the other end. The bit you put their feeds into. Where does that sit ? Is it taped down? Does it like have a little teeny stopper in it?
Im a curious cat!

It is generally taped to the side of their faces and has a little stopper thingy that goes into the end of it.

I can give you a link to pictures of Mr Chicken when he has his nasal gastro tube. The taping down was severe because any other way and he would pull it out.

yeah its taped down, and has a little cap thingy on the end of it.... dont be like dh n forget to put it on or the milk will run out afta you lay bubba down! men!
\i cant remeber what they use, but maybe eucelyptus or sumfn to get the tape off as it is super sticky so it cant be pulled off normally
I had seen them taped to their little cheeks but wasnt sure if it ended there or maybe it was longer and led somewhere else . . !!
Thanks for the piccies Pobbles. .your little man is such a cutie!! :D
we find with kenzees tube the best way to tape it is tape on the cheek and slightly over the nose so no where for litle fingers to pull it out, we then put it over her ear like you do with sunglasses then put it down her back and put a bit of tape betweenher shoulder blades and then feed the tube down though the botton of clothes, i like to keep it out of erh way as much as i can and the tape on the back i find really helps for just incase it gets pulled better of having the skin on there back pulled than the skin under there eye
there is a cap on end to close it of
to get the tape of olive oil works really good as it wont sting or damage the skin, and its a good idea to use duoderm under the fixamol as its less likely to cause scarring
