Female Toddler, 2 in July, seeks friends, male or female to share fun times with

Okay, so this is really lame, but my poor daughter is friendless.

A lot of it is my fault... I joined a playgroup when she was 8 months (well, 2 actually), but in one she was much younger than the other kids and I was about 10 years younger than all of the mothers... so stopped going... and the other was AGES away, and all the babies were younger (newborns) and I was scared DD would hurt them (not on purpose of course).

I looked into going BACK to one of hte playgroups (the one with older kids) but they're "full" now, so I can't go. There are no others close by, and because I don't drive, it's not like I can just travel around easily and go to any one.

ANYWAY, whenever other kids are around, she's so NOT used to them that she either freaks out and whinges and tries to get away from them, or just stands there shyly, not moving, and just watching them in silence.

Today she was watching the kids next door play... and looked as if she really badly wanted to join in. I felt like crying... in fact, I feel like crying now. I don't want her only friend to be me. I want her to HAVE kid friends. She NEEDS kid friends.

I don't really know what I'm asking here... but I'm asking for help in finding her friends. She's great... very well behaved, very quiet (because she's not used to kids), but gets kinda loud and fun when she's used to someone... she's lovely, but lonely.

I'm willing to travel (I'm out Ipswich way), but don't drive, so I can only meet somewhere near public transport or within a short drive to public transport.

PLEASE HELP MY DD MAKE SOME FRIENDS!

(lol... this is such an embarrassing post... ).

I'll bring my kiddies to play with your DD :D You've met my DD, and my DS is 4 but he is good with younger kids. I'm still living in Goodna for a little while longer, just let me know if you want to organise something :)

My nearly 2 year old will soon be moving back to Queensland from the desert (NT!), and looking for friends! She will also be "somewhere out Ipswich way"...in about mid-late July this year. Perhaps she won't have a chance as your DD will be so overwhelmed with admirers from you ad????? (what is it they say, send photo of tractor?? Well, in my daughter's world it would be "Send photo of wooden block trolley!" How far from Ippy are you?? (It's a long way to push a block trolley to Ipswich from where we are but it's not too far to drive!)

Awwww... thanks guys!

When I get more time, I'm going to PM all of you interested/able to possibly meet up and hopefully get DD a few friends out of it! The poor shy thing!

Veve... I'm still not 100% on the dinner (I know, I'm pushing it...lol), but hopefully will know sometime this week. I've been to a few BH dinners in the past though (even bought DD along once or twice I think...), even hosted one!

Anyway... thanks for the overwhelming replies... so very sweet! Hopefully DD won't be lonely for much longer!

Hi Chanel

I to am almost 2 and looking for friends. My mum has a sweet ride so we are able to travel to meet up where ever. We dont live far from you if we go on the ferry boat across the river which is great fun. Can you please send me a PM when your mum works out a time and place for all us crazy kids to meet.
Mum has met you before at a dinner which I am not allowed to go to as I cant sit still for longer than 2 seconds but she did tell me that you are VERY well behaved & beautifull :o Valentine . Hope to meet you soon Jack.

Hey,

My daughter is a bit younger than Chanel (she's almost 17 months) but we live in Ipswich so very close to you!

She doesn't have many friends either (neither do I! ) so would love to meet up.

I'm going to the dinner on Sat anyway so guess I'll see you there!
