Hi everyone
We've just moved to Forest lake and I'm currently searching for a playgroup.
I am stull breastfeeding my 13 month old boy so I need to find a playgroup that is ok with that (we had no luck where we used to live - I was forced to bf in the car)
If anyone knows of some venues I'd love to hear them
Thanks
Chrissy
You have GOT to be joking!!!
As far as I am concerned, no-one has any say whatsoever about my decision to breastfeed my children.
I was at playgroup today, and fed my 17 month old bub, and also fed my 3 year old.
I do not even consider that anyone would not be OK with it, it is just none of their business!!
Do NOT allow small minded people to push you around!:hugs:
I would certainly complain to the Playgroup Association if they are registered. Absolutely disgusted by the treatment you received. I didn't breastfeed long but certainly HATE it when people get their PC hats on about breastfeeding taboos and act like its a crime!
i can't believe there would be such small minded playgroups out there, after all, every parent is different but children all love to play together...isn't that what playgroup is supposed to be about? I think breastfeeding my baby is one of the most wonderful and beautiful things I can do for him and I am proud that I have been able to succesfully continue to BF and work 3 days a week for 5 months now (my bubba is 8months) and I hope to be able to continue for as long as we both want. It keeps me close to him and after a rotten day of work I love to come home and bundle him up in my arms and BF him. Congratulations to you for continuing to BF, I hope you keep it up until you are good and ready, and that you find Brisbane Playgroups a little more open minded.
Sorry, dont know any groups but...OMG that they treated you like that!!!!:shame: RUDE!!!!!!!!!
i used to go to a playgroup in forest lake .. its near one of the public schools .. off forest lake blvd .. & yes i used to breastfed my children there .. i went about 3-4 years ago .... it was very good then ...
there is prolly a local ABA group. have a look on their website at www.breastfeeding.asn.au and see if you can find the contact details for you local group they will definatley be breastfeeding friendly and will be able to point you in the dirention of other playgrousp/mothers groups too:thumbsup:
OMG I can't belive you had to breastfeed in the car:thumbsdown:
I go to a playgroup at Redbank Plains and we have a few BF mums there. If redbank Plains isn't too far I can PM you the details

 OMG That's just discusting! NO ONE I mean NO ONE should even try to open their mouth and have an opinion about you breastfeeding! Your baby is still a BABY!! I am seriously shocked and so angry. I'm still breastfeeding my 2.3 year old and I would be furious if anyone forced me to breastfeed in the car :devil6:
Sorry no playgroups though
