Is there anybody that is a member of a mothers group?
I hear that this is a good way to make new friends, if anyone can let me know of any in melbourne that would be great! :D

Hi & welcome to Bubhub Steph!

I am from Sydney, but I'm sure some of the Melbourne girls will be able to help you with regards to a playgroup close by or you can contact the Victorian Playgroup Association.

Look forward to chatting with you more! :)

Hi Steph,

I'm new to Bubhub and have just seen your post.

My names Lisa and I'm 25, I will be moving to Point Cook next month and don't know anyone in the area with any little ones so it would be great if we could meet up for a coffee!!!

My son is now 5 months old, he's just started to roll and is smiling all the time... oh the joys you have to look forward to.

Just to let you know, once you have your little one you will be put in contact with a maternal health nurse who will then invite you to a six week mothers group. I'm sure you will make more friends while at this group, the friends I've made at mine have been fantastic!!!

You can contact me at lisa_aus@hotmail.com if you like.

Hope your coping ok in the heat.

Take care,

Lisa.

Hi Steph,

I replied to your post in General - Pregnancy area.

I am not too familiar with your side of town (even though I have lived in Vic. all my life). But I do know where it is though.

After your pregnancy your health nurse that comes to visit you at home will set you up with a health centre for further visits - they usually set you up in a 'first mothers group'. I have just started mine.

Other groups that exist can be found through Australian Breast Feeding Assoc. as well, and other groups could be found through your local council.

But as before - there is a group of us meeting up for coffee next Wed. at Chadstone near Glen Waverley. Just let me know if you're interested.

Chat soon.

Hi Steph.:)
Welcome to BubHub & Australia!! :D

You should definitely come and join us at our Melbourne Mums monthly meets. (What a tongue twister that was!!) We have 3 seperate things being organised at the moment so hopefully you can make it to at least one. Check out the thread in 'Games & Fun Stuff.'

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for the info! Id love to join the melbourne mum meets but unfortunately for the next month i am still a working mum to be. Long hours too but i have stopped the travelling part and am now office based in Port Melbourne.
At least now i have came across Bubhub and can keep in contact with all you melbourne mummies until i do leave work!

How long have you been using this site and meeting up with new friends?
I think its great! :)

Steph- I have been 'addicted' to Bubhub for about 6 months. I first came across the site in November 2004 but it wasn't quite as big so i didn't really visit all that much. But since i actually met some of the Mum's, i have been hooked. They are all such great women and so easy to get along with.

When do you finish work? It would be great to meet up with you after bubs is born. We are all so clucky over newborns.:D

I'm Melissa 25 yo and I'm just around the corner from you in spotswood! I have a 3 month boy - Logan and have started going to Mums groups at the Newport Maternal Health Centre. They will involve you in a group when you have bubs. I am also a member of the Australian Breastfeeding association and we have coffee mornings every now and then, you can come to these whenever you want - before bubs even.
