My doctor told me to continue on paxtine (I take 1/2 tab a day) whilst breastfeeding and then ween him off it slowly, as If I stop taking it abruptly he will suffer withdrawal symptoms.

I took aropax from about 10 weeks post partum and for at least 2 years and continued to breastfeed throughout that whole time.
I didn't notice any side effects while I was feeding, however, once I weaned (and I just went cold turkey) it was a bit hard for about a week- I feel they were having a bit of withdrawl- not to mention me but after a week we were all fine. I just avoided being anywhere too stimulating- like the shopping centres for a week.
I'm really glad that I used the medication as I really needed it.
blessings on your journey
I am taking aropax 20mg a day, I started when bub was 4 months old, weaned him at 11 months, and never had a problem. I take it at night and the doc said it could make him jittery or whatever but he showed nothing at all.
Good luck hun :hugs: I hope they help you

Hi, What is this meds that you are talking about? Is it an anti-anxiety med? I suffer from anxiety but I am on ciprimil, an anti-depressant. I know.... stupid.
Just wondering if its in the same family as serapax, its just a meds that I am familiar with, (I dont take it)
