View Full Version : Low blood pressure
Has anyone experienced really low blood pressure?
I'm 8 weeks pregnant now, and I can hardly sit up because my blood pressure is so low.
I have, but it comes and goes, would recommend eating red meat or taking an iron supplement (check with your gp) or multi vitamin (elevit is amazing). Make sure you get up slowly in the bathroom as most people with this condition fall over in bathrooms..........
:o
Best of luck with the pregnancy, def talk to your doctor about it....

I had really bad headaches and got giddy alot when I was about 7 to 8 weeks and dr said it was from low blood pressure. I was told to get plenty of rest and to make sure that I was eating well.

I'll put my hand up too. I usually always have low BP. It is worse when I am pregnant.
I found good diet, regular meals and vitamin supplements were about all I could do.
You just have too take it easy and if you feel faint SIT DOWN before you fall down. It's ok to have an embarassing collapse if you're not pregnant but it can be pretty bad if you have a fall when you're carrying a bub.
Good luck to you.

Yep I always have low blood pressure and being pregnant made it worse as DD was stealing my iron! I had a count of 9 during my pregnancy iron test.
Just make sure you are eating properly, and go slowly between each level (lying, sitting, standing) and sit down as soon as you feel lightheaded. You won't have far to fall then.
I drink sports drinks that gets my BP up
I rarely have my BP above 100/70 also jelly beans help one or two you can buy special glucose ones in priceline etc they are great :)
My DR recomended it as in the past my BP has been very low :)

I have low BP all the time but not low enough to make me giddy.
Take it easy :) make DH do all the stuff that makes your head spin.
