Just wondering if someone can recommend a suction bowl that actually stays attached to the high chair (also preferably not too expensive!). Thanks. :)

Eww Katie, some of us are about to eat dinner!

I'm also hanging out for someone to solve this question...my current suction bowl has NO suction

My experience is that they don't!

I'm interested to hear if someone thinks I'm wrong, though, as in 12 months or so, I'd be wanting one if such a thing exists.

LOL
I;d go for the "no bowl" option....just spread the food out all over the highchair tray:D

Maybe I will design one that actually works and make my fortune!

Katie, is it possible for bubs to eat weetbix directly off the tray? :D

Yes - both my girls have managed to demonstrate that particular skill at different times - fingers and spoons working together - a lovely mushy mess but some makes it into the mouth!

I feel very stupid - I have never even tried a suction bowl and as I was sitting there tonight holding DD2's plate on the tray as she tried to fling it I did think to myself " there has to be a better way":o

I have seen some at Ikea that looked like frogs and were cheap but don't know how good they are. I also know that if the Bunnykins ones are good you can often pick them up cheap from Peters of Kensington - www.petersofkensington.com.au

Yes, well, when my bowel needs suctioning I want to know what's good and what's not, don't I? :D

I have tried the Safty first suction bowls and both my kids were able to pull them off in seconds:(

I've been using the 'safety first' one for a few months and DD hasn't figured out how to get it off yet.

The suction bit detaches from the bowl - for cleaning and heating.

I got it at target - think it was under $10

Oh, and yes it does suction!! LOL :D

I bought a pack of 3 different sizes, with lids - I think $14 - I thought they were Tommee Tippee but I guess not cos i just looked underneath and it says Munchkins. They were from target and I have great difficulty getting them off the tray myself...mind you have not eaten chocolate for 5 days so that might have something to do with that!!:D

I had one that I found in a $2 shop or similar. It seemed to work really well, but like Rell, both of my kids figured out how to detatch anything stuck to the highchair tray in seconds! I tried every trick in the book and nothing worked!

I went with the use of the tray as a bowl too and when it came to weetbix, I still fed them until they were able to hold the plate still and do it. Have you ever tried to clean dried up weetbix off things ... it's really grotty and hard!

Saying this ... Daniel was the kind of bub that didn't want to miss out on any of his food and took to a bowl and spoon effortlessly and still makes less of a mess than Bella does and he isn't quite 3 yet!
